Luxor Hotel and Casino
The Luxor is a giant pyramid building that is located at the south end of
the strip whereby the bottom part of the pyramid comprises a square. It has
many interesting attractions for its guests which include artifacts from the
Titanic and the Criss Angel (this is located at the southeast corner of the
main floor) and the Bodies exhibit. These are located on the second level.
It also has a giant sphinx statue. Other amenities include a large pool
surrounded by a large deck. In addition there are large air conditioned
corridors that connect the Luxor with the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur so you
don't need to step out doors to get to each of the properties. There is also
a tram system.
The hotel has an Egyptian feel and vibe with a giant megawatt light on the
top of the pyramid.
The hotel rates are very affordable. The hotel has older rooms and newer
rooms. The older rooms are located in the pyramid part of the building and
the newer rooms are located in the Luxor tower which is located adjacent to
the pyramid building.
Other interesting amenities that the hotel offers include an inclinator,
which is similar to an elevator except it goes up and down at an angle which
is at 39 degrees. The rooms on the higher floors have spectacular views.
If you are coffee drinker you can up a cup the the Starbucks located in the
hotel or in any of its restaurants.
Since the bottom of the pyramid comprises a square many of the bars,
restaurants and theatres are located on the perimeter of the building. At
the center of the pyramid is the casino.
In the summer the Luxor has one of the longest running pool party known as
the LGBT pool party or Temptation Sunday.
